Resin Packaging, Stackability, and Damage Risk
Resin Packaging
- Use lined bags, sealed pails, compatible drums, rigid totes, or rated super sacks appropriate to the resin form.
- Add moisture barriers, pallet sheets, edge guards, stretch wrap, and secondary containment where pellets, powder, or liquid could escape.
- Keep lots, grades, catalysts, hardeners, and additives separated and clearly labeled to avoid cross-contamination.
Resin Stackability
- Uniform bagged pellets may stack when bags are interlocked, palletized squarely, and capped with a rigid top sheet.
- Super sacks and drums require verified load ratings and stable pallet patterns before accepting top load.
- Treat mixed resin kits, bulging bags, exposed closures, and partially filled containers as limited-stack or non-stackable.
Resin Containment, Moisture, Temperature, and Compatibility Review
- Prevent bag puncture, dust release, pellet loss, drum leakage, pail-lid failure, moisture intrusion, and contamination between grades.
- Verify cure sensitivity, temperature limits, shelf-life controls, hazardous status, and compatibility of resin, catalyst, and container materials.
- Document resin type, physical form, grade, lot, container size, net weight, safety data, and storage conditions.

How to Measure a Packaged Resin Shipment
- Measure after all bags, drums, pails, totes, super sacks, liners, top caps, and securement are installed.
- Include bulging bags, fill spouts, drum rings, tote cages, spill trays, and any pallet overhang.
- Use the total packaged weight of resin, containers, liners, pallet, containment materials, and securement.

- Measure the finished bag pallet, drum load, pail shipment, super sack, or resin-kit overpack.
- Record the total packaged weight, resin form, container count, and lot or grade for the complete shipment.
- State whether the load has a verified level stackable top or requires limited-stack handling because of bags, closures, or mixed components.
- Include photos of bag seams, fill spouts, lids, rings, labels, liners, spill trays, and pallet securement.
- Confirm moisture control, temperature limits, hazmat status, spill containment, liftgate, and appointment requirements.
